Hi dear Hiveians,
nice to come back to you again with another sketch.
This time I drew of an Indonesian lady in a traditional javanese dress with a graphite pencil.
The hair is only adorned with jasmine and white camelia flowers 😅. Her body is wrapped in a batik cloth.
Batik is originally a traditional handwoven cloth in which the motive design is handpainted based on natural objects.
The handmade batik is naturally very expensive.
However nowadays there are mass produced batik printed using maschine so that it can be more affordable to common folks 😄.
And unfortunately the Chinese businessmen have also made much cheaper batik copying our design cos many traditional crafters in the past were clueless about the idea of patents protection.
The following pictures will show you how batik clothes were traditionally made and how my drawing was created.
Additionally, a picture of me at the wedding, as I was also wearing a batik fabric as a lower garment.

Hallo liebe Hive-Mitglieder,
schön, wieder mit einer weiteren Skizze zu euch zurückzukehren.
Dieses Mal habe ich eine indonesische Dame in einem traditionellen javanischen Kleid mit einem Graphitstift gezeichnet.
Das Haar ist nur mit Jasmin und weißen Kamelienblüten geschmückt 😅.
Ihr Körper ist in ein Batik-Tuch gehüllt.
Batik ist ursprünglich ein traditionelles, handgewebtes Tuch, bei dem das Motivdesign von Hand auf der Grundlage natürlicher Objekte aufgemalt wird.
Handgemachte Batik ist natürlich sehr teuer.
Heutzutage gibt es jedoch maschinell bedruckte Batik in Massenproduktion, sodass sie für die breite Bevölkerung erschwinglicher ist 😄.
Leider haben auch chinesische Geschäftsleute viel billigere Batik heutzutage hergestellt, indem sie unsere Designs kopiert haben, da viele traditionelle Kunsthandwerker in der Vergangenheit keine Ahnung vom Konzept des Patentschutzes hatten.
Die folgenden Bilder zeigen euch, wie Batik-Kleidung traditionell hergestellt wird, und natürlich auch wie meine Zeichnung entstanden ist.
Dazu noch ein Bild von mir bei der Hochzeit, denn ich trug dabei auch ein Batik-Stoff als Unterteil.

You're right. Are you learning German?
That rule is correct if we're in a "live" set up..a real life situation, however people are normally more casual online, so it doesn't matter that much.
If you like, you can also use "dich" with me :).
Ich habe Deutsch in die Universitaet gelernt ... but that was before the internet was big (yes, I am THAT OLD), so I never learned the rules about informality in internet settings, so I never can assume. I am taking up German again, a bit at a time, so I practice with friends who speak German on Hive.
