This morning my dear wife came to me with news of a displeased Snapperino. A new user had tried to upload a short on Snapie and felt disappointed when the video showed up as failed.
I explained—of course—that the system is self-healing, and, as one does, I got a little technical about it. But I could see the unconvinced face staring back at me. The question was already forming in her mind, and soon enough on her lips:
“How can people know it’s self-healing, like you say?”
And you know what? I say this with no shame: she’s right.
Months ago, I knew I had to update the gateway monitor—the app I originally built to track videos on legacy 3Speak. My friend @eddiespino cloned it long ago and made a version that was far more pleasing to the eye, so I let mine sit. Someone else is carrying the torch now, I told myself.
But…
A new feature is a new feature. And when that happens, the Bat Signal can be lit once again, I submit.
At any rate, I’m pretty proud of it—especially because it works hand in hand with the enrichment service I built as well. Now you can actually see what’s happening with your video snaps, and you can also explore what other fellow Hivers are sharing.
Today was a good day.

There's another guy who has been posting music videos to 3speaks and when you click on his post to listen to them, it comes up the same message. Don't know if this is related or not, just thought I'd let you know.
oh... please do share with me a link.
I suppose you're talking about my case. 😅 Likewise, I'm glad to know that these video platforms are still being worked on and developed, as they are very necessary nowadays. Now everyone (even grandparents) watches short videos on their cell phones.
That's why moving towards new technologies is always something that must be done to stay relevant, and that's not as easy as just writing it. It is a trial and error process, improvement, development, more errors and more developments.
Compared to before, when I only heard about cases of errors uploading videos to 3Speak, experiencing this firsthand gave me a different perspective on how things are changing and improving. Those who say that the heartbreakers do nothing are completely ignorant and have no idea of the hard work they do every day. That, and the fact that they keep going despite everything, is admirable.
Keep it up.
good luck
