Heimindanger is around again and now he started to post in the name of joythewanderer. I don't know how he got her keys but it could be an exploit on the DTube website back in the days. So be safe and change your keys asap!
I am guilty of changing them not often enough so I just did it and it is easier than you might think. Just go to peakd -> wallet -> account actions -> keys & permissions -> change password. Obviously save your new keys lol

wouldn't revoking permissions be enough? I don't think dtube asked for keys directly back in the day
Yup, this is fear mongering to extreme. I assume he legit wants to help but this isn’t helpful at all. A thoughtful post about changing keys is great, but this is just fear mongering.
I honestly do not think it is fear mongering. Like if a project or project owner appears to be compromised I think warning people about it makes sense.
No one was expecting the joythewanderer account to start reposting heimindanger. It was weird at best and people were talking about it in HIVE discord when it started happening.
I haven't been around long enough to even know what Dtube is so I cannot speak to how it worked and what the login options were but I am glad people are raising awareness.

Revoking access is probably enough, but I get it. Be on the safe side.
Still overvalued circlejerk voting on this post which is actually the bigger problem of this platform.
Just look at the comments of both accounts and how one account acts with the other. You don't need to be a genious to come to that conclusion. Also I have worked with that guy for a long time and know how he ticks. Revoking permission does not change anything if you logged in with your private keys back in the days. I did not ask for votes - I can not control who votes on my posts - that's it.

To your point, normally the trending page makes no sense. Like most the stuff is not something you would expect to be trending.
That being said, I think from a traditional social media perspective something like this being trending makes sense to me.
I am also not questioning that HIVE has problems I am more just saying I do not think this is an instance of the "circlejerk" as they say. Also, I think we need something better to say than "circlejerk." I feel weird even typing it 😅

It destroys duration, 'proof of brain', the whole incentives structure of the platform and therefore the platform itself.

I transferred 8888 Hive to Magi running a witness and some more to be able to do stuff there. I still have around 2000 Hive in DIYHub because that is my project and it needed stake and the rest I probably transferred to real cash because life is life sometimes. Also I stopped posting for a very long time building things in the background - what are you doing for the chain except to care about other people's assets? About changing keys a friend of mine change his keys recently but right now it is only his posting key that is working all others are invalid please what can he do?
Uhm I can not help you on that tbh. The most important step of changing keys is to copy the new keys. Since some of the keys are invalid I would assume that your friend only opied the private posting key and not the whole file that he had to download. Maybe he can find that file in the download folder of the pc he changed the keys on (?) I hope he does!

That is simply not correct. Back in the days you logged into dtube with your steem/hive keys. Only when dtube had it's own chain it also got other accounts. I worked as dev for the platform and should know
