What is obvious above all is that the victims of the violence were self-selected. In every case the violence was perpetrated on defenseless individuals, which those individuals chose to be.
I have always recommended being armed. I always will recommend being armed, and also being part of an armed community, such as a gang, because gangs are often armed, and therefore have greater military might than an armed individual, all else being equal. I further recommend ensuring all else isn't equal, by adopting modern security mechanisms that make firearms obsolete, and being armored.
I do not find the requirement to wear masks that is being proposed today around the world to be onerous because I recommend including such filtering technology in the armor I suggest. I recommend being armored in public because war is presently the state of society in America, if not the world, and it is necessary to prepare for war to prevent being defeated. Armor is perhaps the primary preparation for military engagement, and whether we want to be at war or not, we do appear to be at war presently.
I do not live in a city, because cities are largely corrals of defenseless chattel, and I am not defenseless chattel. If you live in a city, and find it impossible to live with armor on in public, yet face violent assault by gangs such as featured in the video in the OP, it is obvious that remaining in the city self-selects you for being so victimized.
Good luck is the best I can wish on anyone in that circumstance, as reason and competence clearly do not pertain to their self management.
Either get out of the city, or end your defenselessness. Cops do not protect you from crime. You protect you from crime. Be prepared to face such criminal violence as in the above video without suffering harm, or move to where you do not face such criminal violence. It is a fact that many places exist where such criminal violence is not a feature of society.
The most important preparation you can undertake IMHO is to be a member of a community that will defend itself with arms as necessary. When armed assaults come, everything else will be secondary to that force of arms necessary to your survival.
What does "white privilege" mean?
It means if you're "white" your grandparents weren't denied home-loans simply because of their skin color.
It means if you're "white" your grandparents and parents weren't the target of laws specifically designed to destroy your core family unit.
None of this is the average "white" person's "fault", they are not individually "responsible" for the "privilege" they've unwittingly enjoyed.
However, there should be some acknowledgement that many of their neighbors did not enjoy the same unspoken, invisible "privilege".
