Reflection: Learning Gritness to Unlock Potential Greatness

A wonderful day to each one of you here in hive. I hope this week treats you well. If not, that's okay because there are still a lot of good days ahead. For today, I will be sharing my insights I have learned from different aspiring people during our previous culminating activity in our E-Commerce subject that happened on January 4,2023 with the theme: Empowering E-Commerce: Expand User Experience, Navigate Business Growth, and Key for Marketing Success.

OVERVIEW:
Our professor in E-Commerce let us know her plan to conduct a culminating activity as our final output instead of having a written exam. For her, it is to test our ability to listen and reflect on our learning on the subject itself. The class agreed to her idea. Weeks prior to the event, we planned everything ahead. This event invited all fourth year students to attend. We talked about the foods, tokens, attire and other matters.

THE ACTUAL DAY
We got to school early before the call time at 8 A.M. Since it is a formal event, we are told to wear light make-up with our corporate attire. Before the activity starts, the students are very busy preparing while others keep on arriving.

When my classmates finished preparing, we decided to take pictures together.

At exactly 8, we are called to enter the venue. This is the venue, CTU Main-Campus Gymnasium.

Each of us gathered and began finding chairs, so we could sit. While seated, I saw my senior school classmates on the other side. We bond and started taking pictures together.

After a few minutes, the program began. As always, the program will start with a prayer. It is followed by the singing of the national anthem, ASEAN and CTU hymn.

Afterward, our class president introduced the first guest speaker.

The first speaker Mr. Rhancel Uy Labuga, who is a real estate agent, shares his journey in life success as a real estate specialist as well as his venture in his franchising business, which is Pater ni Aki. He shares that during his venture into the business, it was indeed very challenging, but he found courage to continue, and now he is managing the business himself at the same time employed as a Property Specialist at SM Development Corporation. According to him, the internet, specifically e-payments and social media, has helped him a lot with promotion and reaching their target markets. Additionally, he mentioned Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads Manager. Moreover, he gives us a lot of advice.

One of which has impacted me is when he said that it is not necessary to take a career in your field alone, since you really have to go through a lot, or you will go where you don't want without knowing that you will be successful there. With him saying that to us has given me a sense of comfort, since personally, I really don't know what future holds.

After the discussion, the speaker himself let students ask questions. My classmate @maryjolly is one of the students who asked question.

She is asking about how he was able to conquer challenge like no sale in business. Sir Rhancel answered her questions right away. Afterward, a certificate of appreciation was given to him on the stage.

Followed by Sir Rhancel is the second speaker, Ms. Yvonne Tiffany Rondina.

She is a creative and passionate artist of her own brand, Creative Tiffany. Most of her talks highlight the importance of finding your passion as early as our age now. She said that her passion for the arts started at an early age as she was very passionate about crafts and the arts. She also shares with us the challenges she has been through in building her own brand. According to her, the internet has helped her connect with different types of people that need their service. Through the internet, she is now making noise on her brand about adding a physical store located at Ayala Central Bloc on the 3rd floor. She also gives us advices.

One thing which I can relate to is when she said asks the right person questions in order to get the right answer. It is very true since I have done that, and it has significantly been the best answer I am looking for. Additionally, she highlights the importance of continuous learning. I believe that we have the opportunity to learn every day and in life we should not stop learning.

And yes, after every presentation there is a Question and Answer portion. Mrs. Yvonne had a twist in which she gave a keychain of her creation to every person who would be asking questions.

LUNCHBREAK
It was already past 12 when the first session ended. We were all hungry, so the food committee assigned started to distribute the free lunch packs.

We were given a 1-hour break so we had the chance to took a lot of pictures.

Without us noticing the third speaker- Miss Angcool arrived. She is a social media influencer, a hardworking teacher and a hands-on business owner.

She talks about what kind of person she is and how she gets the life she is living right now. She said that through social media platforms, she is widely known. According to her, she also started as a working student. During her sharing, we all are having fun because she is very interesting and funny.

I really admire her since I am also a working student at the present time. I can relate when she says how hard it is to study and work. Now, she successfully owns 5 branches of Don Macchiatos. I got really inspired by her talk, full of hope that someday I can have my own business too.

QUICK BREAK
We had a quick break and took our snacks.

For the last speaker, Mrs. Athena Basubas, who has been a selfless mother and dedicated teacher for a decade.

She shares how personal collection has changed her whole life. It made me cry while watching her stories play on the screen. I can relate to that, since I have also been into a lot of hardships in my life and sometimes making decision is very challenging. Mrs. Athena also shares the opportunities if we are to join the personal collection industry. Moving on, each one of us received a certificate of recognition after the event. It is a successful event indeed.

With all the speakers, I have found inspiration and have learned a lot. Through their stories, the more I get dedicated to working hard in order to be successful and inspire other people as well.
