On the 23rd of December this same year, I journeyed together with some likeminded people to a town called Oluwatedo in Ilora, Oyo state. The name of the Organization is called CMNO (Chosen Multipurpose Non-profit Organization). We stayed in the town till yesterday 26th of December. We are called to reach out in love and minister to the lowest people by the human standard. We have been touring villages in Oyo state for the past 6years with the message of Christ, and we use Christmas season to reach out to them. We as well minister to them in material things as well, and we make sure to give them a special treat on the Christmas Day.
On the first night, we took our time to pray and further take charge of the town. Then we settled down, freshen up and had dinner. The next morning was filled with preparation for the afternoon and Christmas Eve, which is later in the night. We kickstarted our setting up immediately after a general spirit filled devotion. We invited a Drama ministry to minister to the villagers about the love of Christ, Salvation and the hope they have in Christ. Then we took our time to pray with them.
The Christmas Day was a full day. We woke up early, observe the devotion, then set out to cook for the whole villagers. We cooked a full bag of Jollof rice (the rice was really good) packed some for the children who will later meet with our Father Christmas, who came all the way from Rome (smiles) and the rest for the Youths and Adults of the village. We finished on time to meet up with the Church service, we participated in prayer, song and one of us was given the opportunity to share the word during sermon time. We served the people who were in Church and the Children get to meet the Father Christmas. After Church, we stormed the village with our Christmas food and other package as well with the message of Christ.
We met with different set of people, witnessed Christ to them and even prayed for them. Some had requested for prayers and some as the Spirit of God has led us. I personally remembered praying for some set of Guys we met at a Bar in the village and one of them had made a comment that made not just my day but my year. He said “this is the best thing anyone has done for me this year, you prayed like you knew what I was going through” that really meant a lot.
We had so much fun doing the work of our father. We retired to the Church later in the evening and worshipped and prayed till the early hours of 26th of December. Later at daybreak we cleaned up and leave the town for our homes, and of course with an assurance that there’s so much joy in heaven as souls were won for Christ.
