Aw thats such a sweet story. Lucky I have my own Mr Fixit .. I do wish he would stop picking random things up from the tip shop to fix though.
We are talking to council at the moment to facilitate a monthly volunteer repair shop in Winchelsea... fix, not buy. It's been really successful where ever it has popped up on the coast. The zero waste culture is super keen on it
People can be so awesome.
The volunteer repair shop in Winchelsea sounds like an awesome initiative!!! What a great way to help stop landfills and save people money. @steemmatt would be proud of you!! I also really love that older people can enjoy community time whist remaining useful and share their skills to young people, who seriously DO have to start learning this stuff.
So often people simply don't have the glue gun, or the drill or the sewing machine or whatever to make it possible. A shared community tool cupboard is also a GREAT idea.

Thanks!!! It IS a great way to bring old and young together- community bonds are so essential and we are trying to do what we can to instigate, rather than wait for others to do it xx
