Hi Hive Fam!
Today I have been fig harvesting! These fruits are so abundant, so sweet, so delicious and so very good for you.
They are full of protein, iron, fibre, potassium, magnesium and other nutrients. High in vitamin C, B6 and copper. They help heal sore throats, improve eye health, lower cholesterol levels, help maintain healthy blood pressure, guard against colon cancer and breast cancer and regulate healthy liver function. They are also great for the immune system.
Figs have been seen to promote healthy skin when used to treat allergic dermatitis being more effective than hydrocortisone cream which is the go to remedy by mainstream doctors.
One thing to be aware of is that fig trees produce s natural latex that some people have a bad reaction to.
The leaves of the fig tree also have health benefits when drunk as a tea and can also be used in a similar way to grape leaves as a wrap for food - rice based fillings are a particular favourite stuffing ingredient for them.
I shall be drying some of my figs and freezing some. The weather is too humid for easy sun drying so I will be drying tray fulls in the oven on lowest heat for about 36 hours.
Thanks for stopping by

Your figs look so delicious, I love figs and goat cheese together.
That sounds like a good meal!
Oh, I love them figs. They are soooo good indeed.
Never tried to dry them, only have them fresh or in jam, but occasionally I buy dried from the shop.
Thanks@nelinoeva I am looking for some fig recipes to use some as well. Lol so many to use up!
I love figs and they don't grow here and when I can find them at the grocery store they are not very good. I am envious of yours!
Thanks very much @melinda010100
I never had one raw, but we have Fig Newtons here which are super yummy!
