Homeopathy for Healing and Disease Prevention - Part One

image.png

@bia.birch

With the rise of mutating viruses, antibiotic-resistant bacteria, increasing medical costs, drug recalls, and side effects of conventional medications that are often worse than the disease the medicine is designed to treat, many people are looking for a more effective, less expensive and safer alternative. Homeopathy has enjoyed a resurgence in the field of health and wellness because it offers just that.
The word homeopathy was created by Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), from two Greek words meaning “similar suffering”, or “like cures like”. This principle of nature has been known for thousands of years, but it was this German doctor and chemist who applied it to experiments that lead to the development of homeopathy in the 18th century. (1) Hahnemann rejected the violent and barbaric medical practices of the day (think bloodletting) and coined the term allopathy, meaning “opposite suffering,” for these standard forms of treatment. (2) Hahnemann sought a more gentle form of medicine without side effects.

Decentralizing The Food System With Vertical Farming

image.png

@doitvoluntarily

From Japan to the UK, throughout the United States, and elsewhere, vertical farming today is on the rise.
This is one market that is expected to continue growing steadily for the next several years, estimated that it might soon pass a worldwide value of $12 billion or more by 2026.
Vertical farming projects are attempting to provide an alternative growing solution that is one which has been colored as a threat to the overly centralized food system today as we know it. That is because vertical farming enables the decentralization of the system, enabling more people to become involved with food production and be able to produce healthy, quality food in new areas.

Experiencing a Literal Change of Perspective

image.png

@kennyskitchen

Now, if you've ever tried to cut your own hair (whether face, head, or other) using a mirror, you can probably relate to the challenge I was facing. I kept trying to use my sense of vision to take in what was happening, flipping that image to make up for the mirror, then trying to direct my hand based on that. Needless to say, it was a challenge, and I found my self laughing at myself quite a few times.
Somewhere along the way, I had an epiphany moment. If I followed my arm down to my hand and fingers, looking down at them, and getting a feel for the movements and what they looked like, I could then just use the mirror to catch just the little details. As soon as I stopped trying to give reversed/flipped signals to my hand, it got so much easier, and more enjoyable.

Updating the Toolkit: Using Withania somnifera (Ashwaganda) to cope with Stress

image.png

@alchemage

Marilu Henner once said, “Being in control of your life and having realistic expectations about your day-to-day challenges are the keys to stress management, which is perhaps the most important ingredient to living a happy, healthy and rewarding life.”
However, stress can become extremely overwhelming to the point where it may leave an individual suffering from stress feeling incapacitated.1 Everyone copes with stress differently in accords with culture and personal experiences. Some people self-medicate with drugs and alcohol, while others turn to the medical system for pharmaceuticals. These two routes of stress-release each have a plethora of potentially detrimental outcomes, dependency and toxicity being two major components. Thus, others seek alternative routes which might have fewer concerns, such as meditation or herbal supplements. One of these herbal alternatives that has been used for millennia is Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha)

Steemducation: What Is Steem - Part 1. A Decentralised Experiment. Welcome to the Tron Community!

image.png

@eco-alex

This video is the first part of a 'low-tech' explanation of what Steem is, and how it works. In this first I talk about Decentralisation, Steem, Steemit, Steempeak, dApps and more.
These videos are aimed at people with little to no understanding of Steem or blockchain. Once you have understood these basic principals you will be able to use the Steem ecosystem and its dApps with a good understanding of how it all works.

Just Keep Grinding...

image.png

@whatamidoing

Things go well. And then they don’t. You wake up feeling great, or you wake up feeling like shit. Things come in waves and catch you off guard, for better or worse.
We don’t know what the universe will give us, all we can do is focus on what we put into it.
Every day I wake up and think about what I can do to make the day end better than it start. To be honest, half of the time I wake up lazy, not wanting to do anything. Back when most days felt like that, I followed that emotion and did nothing. One I found a trick to generate some motivation, I started waking up with more energy...sometimes.

Building the "Fountain of Youth" - Tower Cap

image.png

@creatr

Why a Tower Cap?
The Tower Cap, a George Wiseman improvement upon the original acrylic polishing machine, is an attachment designed to allow the lye mist created by the electrolyzer to settle, minimizing the amount of lye that escapes from the machine during operation. By the way, you can order an HHO health machine "off-the-shelf" from Eagle-Research.
If you've ever done any plumbing,
you may already be familiar with cutting, preparing, and assembling PVC pipe using appropriate tools, cleaning fluid, and PVC glue. If not, no worries; PVC is actually pretty easy to work with, and you can find endless tutorials to help you with any details online.

Spring Vibes in February!

image.png

@nateonsteemit

Plum blooms!
So, I'm not gonna say I love this new shift, but it's benefits are becoming deeply apparent.
I get to see the sun every day.
I get garden time every day.
I get to sleep at night, though I do sleep late in the morning, usually til 10.
More alone time with the wife, though that means I don't see the kids much.
No more 30 hour days twice a week!
It's working out well so far. The job I'm working this week has some down time, so I can write a few sentences between trucks. Overall, it's a step toward a more natural life cycle.

Time to Mirror What We Have Created On Here - To Create Change

image.png

@trucklife-family

There is a stirring happening, a calling to remember. Can you hear it ? The signs are all there. So much is being brought to the surface, so much injustice is finally being recognized and the pain of the many is finally being acknowledged.
We are connected now, more than ever. We can witness so much more, because we the people can now share our stories, our lives with others around the world. We can bare witness. We can lessen the divide, finally, because there is no need for a middle man. For the endless lies that have been feed to us over the years.
Now we can find things out for ourselves. We can take back that power, we can relearn knowledge, that we were strategically told was unnecessary. So much knowledge is now at our finger tips, so many people willing to share, so many willing to learn.

The sad reality of the state of our seas

@celestialcow

This is an ECO beach in Borneo with an entrance fee to maintain the beach and clean it regularly but unfortunately it was not maintained. It just shows that it is all an illusion, clean or not clean, plastic pollution in the ocean is huge! We need to do everything we can to reduce reuse recycle. Avoid plastic products as much as you can!
Let me know in the comments below what you do or could do to reduce plastic pollution.
I have traveled to 50+ countries, for me sadly it is not surprising to see a trashed beach, the first time I was really aware of trash being a problem was in India 2013 it was absolutely shocking.

If there's no time...like the present...then how soon is now?

image.png

@julianhorack

Life is full of hidden treasures. They lie all about us, in the sand at our feet, pearls of wisdom before swine, sometimes discarded or unobserved, but they are there, if we take the time to observe, if we remember the key, if we look with the right perception.
For life and reality is about perception. What could be a warm day to me might be a cold day to you, although it's the same day. It depends on our subjective perspective and perception. So what is reality then, if observable phenomena can be so subjective? What is the objective truth of any matter? What is the absolute truth?

Rant on the experiential effects of chemtrailing the sunny skies

image.png

@paradigmprospect

I do not claim to know what these trails are that are put into the sky and that I see every day. For years I have listened to rants, experimental data, all sorts of hypotheses and scare-narratives as to what exactly these weird lines in the sky are supposed to be. In the end I opted to stay open-minded and to not worry too much about them - at least until birds start falling from the sky, then I'll be worried.
The thing though is, now that I am a perpetual traveler I see not only the lines in the sky, but I can literally watch over the course of the day as a few - dare I say - strategically located lines in the sky are turning the blue realm into a hazy milky pillow, slowly but steadily. It's also noticeable that these appear not in the country side but where a lot of people live - over cities and high-population density areas.

The AUM of all things

image.png

@nainaztengra

The 3 fundamental sounds of the universe A-U-M, the base of every other sound and word, and the most powerful mantra AUM. Science confirms that the whole of the Universe existence is a complex amalgamation of sounds and that each planet has it's own unique vibration of a sound frequency. AUM is the mantra that is decoded by the scientist as the sound of the Earth, and also identified as the root of our universe. It is the vibration of creation and destruction and all about you and me. When we bring these Mantras into our life we merge into their vibrations. Mantras are not something that we just chant it is something that we strive to merge into and become one with it.

Wax On, Wax Off: Are Any Waxes Cruelty Free?

image.png

@riverflows

As I make natural deodorant for friends and family, I am often asked if I have a vegan version of this wax, meaning, beeswax free. Sure, I say, I can make a vegan alternative - and off I scurry to the books a.k.a the internet. Turns out, there's quite a few beeswax alternatives, but not without a few dilemmas of their own. This post is to explore a few of my thoughts on this as I research what wax alternative I can use to harden homemade cosmetics, and consider whether beeswax is, in fact, a more ethical and vegan friendly product than we may think.

The Most Toxic Idea Promoted by the Spiritual Community

image.png

@fenngen

Probably you've seen a trillion memes and read this all over the place. But just because it's a widely spread idea doesn't mean it's true or the best thing you could live by. And I'm telling you this because I've been living on this for far too long.
Today I've had a really rough day trying to pull myself together. The owner of the house left on a trip about a week ago and I've been alone since then (in company of a dog and two kittens, but I am referring to the absence of other humans). I've been alone before and for extended periods of time (months even without any human contact) and there were painful moments such as the ones I've experienced today.
The thing is, when I interrupted my hermitage a few years ago it was to reconnect with people, to embrace community again and to stop hiding from fears. But it has been incredibly hard to do so and today I had a wake-up call regarding this heavily engrained idea which had become a serious limitation to do so.

Beyond the Comfort Zone of Soothing Spiritual Language

image.png

@artemislives

I was surprised, and then (I must confess) irritated.
Sunday morning community yoga in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, is always an international affair. There are people from all over the world, and some Thai people too - all enjoying yoga led by a group of rotating international volunteer yoga teachers. Today, it was led by our Thai teacher, Kru Jaew, who speaks English just fine. Normally she teaches in English. But this morning, everyone else in the class was Thai and I was the sole foreigner, who also speaks Thai. And so the class happened completely, and only, in Thai language. Not moderated, foreigner-friendly, watch the moves Thai, but fast, local and a challenge to follow with eyes closed Thai.

What is property? Is it defined by consensus?

@lukestokes

Many say property is defined by the legal jurisdiction you live in controlled by a nation state. Others, myself included, derive property rights from the philosophy of liberty as described here:
I own myself. I own my actions in the present moment which creates property, a representation of myself in the past. Blockchains, to me, provide an opportunity to create a new paradigm for understanding property. It's global, not defined by a monopoly on violence in a geographic region (i.e. nation state).
But how is blockchain property defined? Via consensus. In most PoW consensus blockchains, that means 51% of the hashing power. In DPoS on Steem, that means 2/3 + 1 of the top 20+1 elected witnesses.
There has been a long-standing social contract for how the Steemit stake will be decentralized over time and used to grow the Steem ecosystem. Some examples include:

A big thank you to @hungryhustle for creating the amazing infographic of the 8 Pillars Of TribeSteemUp and For @eco-alex for creating the tribesteemup banner and logo.
