Tithing is one of the few that has been questioned by so many Christians. Many believe that Titan was acknowledged only in the Old Testament. It was just a commandment that was not meant to be practiced today.
Tithing can be seen as just a way of showing gratitude to God for his blessings. In Malachi the Bible still mentions how we should bring all our tithes to the storehouse of God so that there will be more food to eat in the house. And God promised that when we bring our tithes, he's going to open the windows of heaven and there will be enough food to pour out his blessings.
Giving tithes is not just about being law-abiding, but it's just a choice where we show gratefulness to God. These tithes have reminded us that all that he has done for us, we really appreciate it.
Even 2 Corinthians 9:7 also states that every man should give according to how they have pleased in their hearts. But must be out of necessity because God is the love of a cheerful giver. We have been taught that
a person must give willingly, not out of compulsion or fear. The text also shows that we are willing to support the church and contribute to the Christian faith and in order to help the poor, the needy.
This is just applying faith and giving in the kingdom of God. I believe that as Christians, we should not see tithes and dust because we are just forced to give things, but it's just our faith. One of the ways we can say tithing is very important is to become a blessing to one another.
In Proverbs 3:9-10, we have been shown that we must honor the lord with our possession and with our firstfruits so that we can increase his bands shall be plenty. God help us as we continue to live according to his will.
