CRITERIA OF BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF GOD
God so much delight in his only begotten son as he commanded us to hear him. Listening and accept Christ's words(doctrines) is an obedience we must fulfill.
Christ is our teacher ordained by God himself, so we have to listen to the doctrines of Christ. Mark 7:7-8 Forsaking the doctrines of God, and following the doctrines of men is count as vanity before God.
Matthew 28:19-20 Before Christ ascended to heaven, he urged his disciples to propagate the gospel of Christ to the while world and baptize them.
Baptism is not in the ten commandments, but it is the first commandment. After examining the doctrine then we can observe Baptism.
1 Corinthian 14:37 Any preacher should accept and acknowledge the doctrines of God. We should accept only the doctrines is written in the bible.
The Apostles wrote the commandment in the bible. If whatever thing you believe in cannot be found in the bible then it is irrelevant.
The first doctrine of Christ is baptism.
Acts 22:16 Baptism is the washing away of sin. The first thing Paul was urged to do before joining the church is to be baptized. Baptism is a necessity to become a member of the Church of God.
The church of God that Paul persecuted was where he wants to join. The act of Baptism is God's commandment.
We all are gentiles except Israelites and we are fellow heirs, of the same body.
The body is the Church and Christ is the head of the body.
John 12:48 If you said you received Christ but you reject his words, that means you are rejecting Christ himself.
Roman 12:9 Cleaving or joining is a commandment, if you say it's not necessary to join the Church then you haven't properly accept Christ because Christ is the head of the church.
If you fail to join the church of God then you are an anti-christ, because God himself established by God. The church is an entity/Institute established by God for men to join.
Acts 20:28 Christ used his own blood for the creation of the Church. Christ loves the church so much that he gave himself for it(Ephesians 5:25).
Ecclesiastes 7:27 We should consider one thing to the other to examine which one is true and acceptable.
What is acceptable and found in the bible is the Church, not Assembly, ministry or fellowship. So anyone going astray, naming the Church either ministry, fellowship or assembly has ignored what is in the bible.
The official name of church in the bible is the church of God because everyone made by God is called by his name. We have the Angels of God, Spirit of God, even Christ is called by God's name.
So what is acceptable is the "Church of God".
MY OLD BELIEF BEFORE THIS MEETING:-
I used to believe that any name given to a church, such as Fellowship, Ministry, or Kingdom hall or Assemble is appropriate, until I learned today that the Bible's official name for the church is "THE CHURCH OF GOD."
I used to believe that baptism was that important and that the only thing that mattered was confessing and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
HOW THE STUDY IMPACTS MY LIFE:-
One of the most important lessons I'd like to apply from this teaching is that I shouldn't believe every spirit, but rather examine each one to see which is genuine.
I'm not going to get carried away by any ideological breeze; instead, I'm going to prove everything.
I would not believe or obey any doctrine that is not found in the Bible or written in the Bible.
