Good day, dearly beloved. I'm glad to be here once again to share my entry to the topic discussed by bro Eli on the purpose of man on earth. The Holy Bible remains our standard and bro Eli has also emphasized that our God is a God of purpose. Yes, God has a purpose for everything He created, whether plants, animal, oceans or dry land. The purpose of plants and animals are to sustain humans. He gave them to us as food. In the book of Genesis, God commanded every entity to come forth and exclaimed that they are good, because God forsaw them fulfilling their purposes to man.
In the same way, man is also created for a purpose.
Yes, the book of Ephesians 2:10 makes us to understand our purpose as men, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them". We are created for do good works. Yes, that's our purpose. No wonder, all Jesus, our saviour did when He was on earth was good works. Act of Apostles 19:38 affirmed it that, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. That was His purpose to do good.
So, as human, our purpose is to do good all the time as God has ordained. Yes, doing good includes worshipping God, edifying the church with our spiritual gifts, rendering help to humanity and making our world a better place. We are not just human, we were purposely created by God to do things that will glorify Him. Hence, anytime we do contrarily, we are working against our purpose. This topic is very important because it opens our eyes to our essence on earth. Our purpose goes beyond procreation. It includes doing good; doing what is lovely, doing what is pure and doing what is of good report, Philippians 4:8. We cannot afford to live recklessly, for we will give account of our to our maker.
I pray that God that our eyes of understanding be enlightened, that we may see our purpose, fulfilling it and not abusing it in Jesus name. Amen
