It is natural for us to feel offended when someone does something that is hurtful. Offenses are more likely to come in areas of our life both within and without. Nobody in this world is perfect. Offenses can also come in different nature; it could be intentionally or unintentionally.
However, we are meant to forgive. One of the things that make us Christians is taking up the nature of Christ. Christ was able to forgive and hold nobody in his heart even when He was persecuted for no just reason.
Peter asked Jesus a question in the Bible in the book of Matthew how often one is to forgive when being offended and Jesus replied 77 times. What Jesus meant by that is that there shouldn't be a limit to which we forgive people. Even though it keeps on reoccurring we expected to keep on forgiving knowing that this is the commandment of our Father in heaven.
Bearing grudges should not be the lifestyle of a believer. When we bear grudges it begins to weigh us down spiritually. Carrying boss weights along the way of our spiritual journey is not good for us. Some of these weights can include unforgiveness.
