Yesterdays prayer meeting was awesome I am glad that I was part of it and here are some of the things I learnt.
The prayer meeting was coordinated by Brother Daniel and he spoke extensively on the kind of mind we should possess as christian.
2 Corinthians 11:2
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
As christians, we all are married to Christ, so Christ been the Groom and us the church the bride. So therefore our thoughts should always be like that of Christ.
Since we are the bride of Christ, we all have the mind of Christ and should always think righteousness and love in all our endeavor because that is the commandment of Christ to His church.
1 Corinthians 2:16
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ
The devils plan is to manipulate our minds so that it did be corrupt, so as to pull us away from Christ. So we should always guide our thoughts in everything we do as brides of Christ.
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Another way the devil is trying to get to us is through false prophets. Those who teaches a different Christ. And Apostle paul has encouraged us to run from such people because they will only lead us to destruction.
2 Corinthians 11:3-4
King James Version
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
So therefore, we should always keep our mind within the reach of Christ less we fall into temptation.
Romans 12:2, KJV: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." ... Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
So therefore we are advised to run away from anyone who does not exhibit the doctrines of Christ in all their doings and stay within the reach of Christ.
Corinthians 6:14, KJV: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
If we corrupt our minds, we are simply divorcing ourselves from our union with Christ. And God has stated that anyone who does so is an adulterer in his sight.
Hebrews 13:4
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge
James 4:4, KJV: "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
So as christians, we should not depart frkm the gatherings of the brethren because from which we keep our faith alive and always keep our mind intact through hearing the word of God.
