Hello

I want to contribute to today's topic" What is the baptism in the Bible? ( Part 1 of 3)

Mark 10: 39 ""We can," they answered. Jesus said to them,"You will indeed drink the cup I must drink and be baptized in the way I must be baptized.

The baptism of Jesus Christ is an example of what baptism is all about.

baptism is a religious ceremony that involves a brief immersion in water or water being sprinkled over the head or forehead as a symbol of washing away sin. It is a period of repentance.

Neither Our Lord Jesus Christ had nothing to repent of nor committed any sin.

I Peter 2:21"It was to this that God called you, for Christ himself suffered for you and left you an example, so that you would follow in his steps.

I Peter 2:22 says "He committed no sin, and no one ever heard a lie come from his lips.

When we consider the intent of Baptism, there is no necessity for Jesus to be baptized.Baptism was commanded by God to fulfil his intentions; that peoples may repent from their sins and their sins to be Washed away.

Acts 2 38 "Peter said to them, "Each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven; and you will receive God's gift, the Holy Spirit.

The intent of baptism is for remmission of sin. To prove that, when Saul went to Ananias to be baptized it was for forgiveness of sin.

Acts 22;16 says"And now, why wait any longer? Get up and be baptized and have your sins washed away by praying to him.'

Though some people believe that baptism is a ritual to give a baby some names.it is not biblical. We already have name

Brethren let us obey what Jesus Christ said in the book of Mark 10:39 , let's follow his footsteps .

Thanks
