What is the Faith of the thief on the cross written in Luke 22:42-43? (Part 2 of 7)

Hello Everyone,

I want to contribute to the question "What is the Faith of the thief on the cross written in Luke 22:42-43? (Part 2 of 7)"

Doing God's righteousness, i.e submitting yourself to the righteousness of God will it be like filthy rags?

For the book of Matthew 6:33 says "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

Your righteousness is only counted or valuable in the sight of God, if you are doing his righteousness.

According to the book of Matthew, Jesus Christ advised the Jews to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness" and everything shall be added unto you.

He never said seek your own righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

For both God's righteousness and man's own righteousness are greatly different

Lets see what Bible said about those establishing their own righteousness to justify themselves before men.

Luke 16:15...And he said unto them ,Ye are they which justify yourselves before men.
God knoweth your hearts for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

When our Lord Jesus was to Jews and the hypocrite, he referred man's own righteousness as an abomination and also, like filthy rags in the eyes of God.

This is a clear indication that there is a great difference in God's righteousness and Man's own righteousness.

The book of Ephesians 6:6"Not with eyeservice, as men pleasers : but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of from the heart.

Those regarded as men pleasers are those doing the righteousness in the eyes of men but in their hearts is something that is abomination in the sight of God.

For those religious leaders that says we do not have to do good works anymore.
That it is not necessary. Even if, you do good works they are just like filthy rags in the sight of God.

That is a reckless interpretation of the Scriptures.

For the book Mark 15:32 said

"You must remember that they were only two crucified with the Lord Jesus Christ".
One at the Left while the other one at the right.

According to Mark's record , both thieves reproached and Mocked Jesus, but, before they died finally, one of the thieves realized between the remaining 3hours or more , from what he had seen or experienced opened his mind.

Jesus extend grace and mercy to this humble and repentant thief and promised him paradise after the physical death on the cross

Let's remember that no one is righteous according to Roman 3:10 and we should always seek God's mercy and grace.

Thanks for reading and remain blessed.
