How should christians practice meditation? - mcgi review topic by brother Eli Soriano

Process of meditation involves focusing on God's word and character, not to empty the mind, it also involve prayers, reading the scriptures and pondering of the truth and to allow the holy spirit to give you an understanding spirit.
Pray for a quiet heart and a right spirit, stay in a quiet place where there will be no distractions, also remember that the practice is more about your mindset than the location and ask God to speak to you.

Choose one passage of the bible and calmly ponder on it, take time and savor the words as if you are mentally chewing on spiritual food.
Ask questions like what does this say about God's character, how can this change my actions or thinking, what is the holy spirit showing me at this moment.

Focus on God, his presence, and his truth when you are worried, calmly take your mind to the scriptures and also to God.
Try to find out what that particular passage is asking you to believe, do or thing, right out on how you can apply this biblical truth to your life.

Make it a regular habit to meditate each day, start with a specific time like the psalms and allow the practice to deepen your relationship with God.
Always be patient because is a process and it's normal for your mind to wander, don't allow someone or anything to discourage you.

Meditating through the bible fill the mind with God's word, than emptying it.
You have to focus on God and on the scriptures not on self focus.
Is an active spirit filled exercise not a passive one.
