MCGI TOPIC REVIEW || Learning How To Forgive

The teaching of forgiveness challenges our instincts, our human instincts. When someone always wrongs us, normally we have to react by anger or retaliation. An eye for eye. But as Christians, we are called to live a high standard life, one that sees the possibilities of the world.

We have to forgive and even be thankful for the opportunity to do so. So why? Because forgiveness is a gift, an act that aligns us with the heart of God. In Matthew 6:14-15, we are being reminded that forgiving others opens the door for God to forgive us.

It's not just about letting go of anger, but this is time, it's time to embrace the transformative opportunity. So when we forgive, we mirror God's mercies.

In Matthew 5:7, as it says, Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. This is the universal principle. No one is sinless. So even the holiest people of the Bible also sing, yet God showed mercy on, had mercy upon them.

When we forgive, only forgive others, we are imparting the same grace into our lives. And God will also forgive us when the time comes. Forgiveness is not just anything but we have to understand that this is purpose and it makes it attainable.

It's not just about the other person, but it's about loving, securing the mercy of God. So let us forgive, not out of weakness, but out of strength, knowing that this will bring us closer to the forgiveness of God in our lives.
