God can never afflicts us without a cause. Many people when faced with hardship, they don't assume that God is punishing them or it is pleasure into suffering.
Brother Eli made it clear through the scripture that God does not afflict us with that because it is not just queer to the unjust. God enjoys seeing his children prosper and not be in pain.
In the book of Lamentations 3:33, this tells us that he is not willing to afflict us or grieve for us. This means that whenever God allows us to experience difficulties, all this for a divine purpose.
Sometimes our sheep are permitted that we may learn patience, that we may learn humility and repent. And some other times, afflictions come not from God but from people who do evil.
As we see in 2 Thessalonians 1:6-7. God sees through this injustice. And promise that you will repay with affliction those who afflict the righteous. We have been reminded that not to doubt or blame God when we go through trials.
Instead, we should examine our life and give Elias the strength in our faith and trust in God's justice. God remain righteous, merciful and full of compassion. And we should never afflict anyone without a cause.
