In his teaching on “A Beginner’s Guide to Reading the Bible,” Bro. Eli Soriano explained how we should approach the Bible and where to begin. We were meant to undesrtand that the bible is not an ordinary or random book , when we read the bible , we should not just read it , but also meditate on it and when we read it , we should also pray and ask the holy spirit for his guidance and the ability to understand the bible.
He explained that reading the Old Testament first might cause confusion for beginners because it focuses on the laws and commandments given through Moses, which were later fulfilled and clarified by Jesus in the New Testament. We tend to gain a clearer veiw of the bible when we read the New Testament first, this allows us to understand the purpose of the love of God.
The teaching in this gospel encourages believers to read the bible with prayer ,patience , and reflection. With the Help of the holy spirit, we will not just understand The word of God, but also grow stronger in faith.
