How Should Christians Practice Meditation // MCGI Topic Review

Christian meditation is about drawing closer to God by quietly focusing on His Word. Unlike other forms of meditation that aim to clear the mind, Christian meditation is about filling your heart and thoughts with Scripture and God's presence.

In the MCGI teaching, Bro. Eli Soriano explained to us that when it it comes to christianity. meditation begins with the Bible.

You don't just read it for reading sake ,you read it slowly, meditate on it,then reflect on its true meaning.

Psalm 1:2 reminds us, "His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night."

With this type of meditation, you stay connected to God as the day goes by. Doing it perfectly is not what you are mandated to do,it is all about creating a space in your heart where God ministers to you.

Fancy tools or long hours is not what is needed. Look for a quiet place, sit calmly, then you can focus on a verse or feel God's presence.

For some Christians, they prefer the method called lectio divina, this has to do with reading a passage on the bible ,reflect as you read ,pray ,then lay for in the presence of God for some time.

Meditation is actually one of the most powerful way to grow spiritually as a Christian.

With this ,you become more aware of God’s love and guidance. Whether you meditate for five minutes or longer, the key is being honest with God and willing to listen in that quiet time.
