Prayer is a way we communicate with our maker
It's way of drawing closer to the one who made us who we are.
It is a time in which we get answers to our questions, just like we can't stay with our parents without communicating or conversing with them. Or just the way we can't stay with people around us without communicationing, even if is to exchange pleasantries. That is the same way we can't call God our own without communicating with him and we do that in place of prayer.
In the video watched the preacher clearly states that it's not only enough to pray but also we must act. And I totally agree with him. Even the Bible has clearly states that in Mathew 7vs7 ' it says "Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find, knock and it be open unto you". The Bible also encourage us to pray without ceasing (1st Thessalonians 5vs18) in as much as prayer is essential, it's not enough to pray and relax and expect everything to be done. Yes it to be done to an extent, but we must act. The Bible also says that the gift of a man maketh him to sit before great men and not mean men. I remember a drama that they acted in my church last Sunday.
The lady was a graduate but she refused to go out and find something doing, she was so consistent in prayers, saying that the plans God has for her is so big, she can't go out, the lady said one day, Some will just walk up to her and then offer her a job.with this perspective, she refused to go out. Saying she's praying to her God.
She continued like that, everybody encouraged her to find something doing, that God will meet her there and elevates her but she refused. Her friend who was praying and still up and doing ended having a big contract one day with a C O E, that's how she relocated to New environment and she was left behind still praying and acting lazy.
At the end of the day, she realised that it's not enough to pray but we must act
Conclusion
In as much as prayer is essential, it's a way of getting closer to God. It's not enough to take us to where we want if we don't act. Just like the drama earlier stated.
So faith without works is death.

I love your write up especially the story. When we pray to God, we should also act it out. Our actions will tell God that we are ready to be closer to Him and our merciful God will never resist
