Is Praying Enough to Get Closer to God? | MCGI | THE OLD PATH

This teaching from The Old Path helps clear a common misunderstanding about prayer. Many people think that just praying alone is enough to get closer to God, but Bro. Eli Soriano explained that prayer must be followed by action. If we only pray and remain idle, our prayers lose their value.

The verse in Matthew 7:7 gives us the right picture: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
Prayer is what was referred to as asking, but the it is a reminder that we should also put in some actions, that is what the words ask and knock means.

If we pray to God for our daily bread , we should also put in some physical actions into making that to come pass.
This is because God blesses the work of our hands.

From this message, it is now very clear that we should also pray and obey God as they go together. We should not only call unto God , we should also be willing to live by his teaching. when we combine prayer with faith, good work and sincere effort , it will draw us closer to God.

So what am i trying to say, it is important to pray, but then prayer alone is not enough. Don't just pray , but live and act according to the will of God. When we add action to our payer, it becomes more powerful.

Sort:

For a prayer to come to pass, obedience and faith will be put into action

We don't just pray, but also work and follow God's will .
Actions and prayers work hand in gloves.
