Speaking In Tongues || The Old Path || MCGI

Speaking in tongues, as taught in the Bible, is a spiritual gift inspired by the Holy Spirit, not something that can be forced or imitated. When the apostles received the Holy Ghost, they began speaking in real human languages unknown to them, but known to others.

In Acts 2:7–8 (KJV), it says:

“And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?”

What does this tell us , tongues is not a random language or utterance ,but
were understandable languages spoken by divine inspiration not random or unintelligible utterances.

Unfortunately, many modern churches misinterpret this gift. They practice tongues in ways that are unscriptural without interpretation, understanding, or purpose. The Bible warns about this in 1 Corinthians 14:27–28, saying that if there's no interpreter, the speaker should remain silent in the church.

True speaking in tongues is not a mark of superiority or a requirement for being “spiritual.” Rather, it is a gift given by God, and not all believers receive it.

Therefore, as true followers of Christ, we must remain within the boundaries of what the Bible teaches. Let us seek to edify one another and not cause confusion, remembering that all things in the church should be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40).

Speaking in tongues is by divine inspiration.

Many churches continue to misinterpret this gift and are doing it the unscriptural way.

Speaking in tongues is a spiritual gift given to every true child of God by the Holy Spirit. It's not a random language and shouldn't be taken for granted.
