One of the things we are privileged to know as christians is the ability to know certain things that are to come before they happen. When we become students of the scriptures it makes us knowledgeable about things we are to see and expect to happen in the future. We don't just sit down clueless of about what is happening because the Word of God gives us insight on it.
John 14:29 - And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
Christ disclosed a number of incidents we are to face so as to get us prepared for them when they arrive. Right from time there have always been prophecy going forth. The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ was prophesied by Isaiah and some other prophets before He came to this world. He also talked about His betrayal and death before it happened.
Studying the Word of God is really profiting because it serves as light to the believers. Why I say it serves as light is because when you have light with you you can see what is ahead you on the path that you are on. This is what the Word of God does for us. It enlightens us on the things ahead.
