Their is this misconception from most believers about God being away from us , and i am so happy the preacher finally addressed this issue.
In this part of his teaching, Bro. Eli explained that God has never been far from us. Rather , we are the ones that as a result of our negative actions , tend to move farther away from him.
Micah 3:4 says,
"Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.”
What sin does is that it creates a form of wall spiritually between us and God, this barrier now tend to seprate us from his and make our prayers weak. Continuing in disobedience makes God to hide his face from us.
Nevertheless , the God we serve is a kind and loving father, his desire is not for anyone to be lost or condemned. whenever we genuinely repent from our sins and go back to him, he is ever ready to accept us back to his fold and give us a new start.

Sin is the only thing that separates us from God. But as a believer, it's not just a personal sin, sometimes we feel far from God because of anxiety. We worry too much about life's issues we forget that God is still with us
Sin and doubt
