Lessons learnt during second day of International Thanksgiving to God:
James 3:15-17 KJV
This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. [16] For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. [17] But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Philippians 3:19 KJV
Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
The wisdom that is from above is not unto pardition but unto salvation.
Yesterday we learnt that our mind has to be set on heavenly things and we can do this by by having a concentration on the things in heaven. And when we walk in the wisdom from above it is full of purity, the fruits of our labour/ service is seen without hypocrisy.
Wisdom that is not from above is sensual and devilish. When you walk in this kind of walking is full of jealousy, every evil work.
James 3:17 guides us to what we should do as believers, we must have good fruits, full of mercy.
We have to practice what we preach. When we're separated from Christ we can't do anything, so with Christ in us we can do all things.
Philippians 3:20 KJV
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Colossians 3:2 KJV
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Setting our mind above is trusting on God.
1 Peter 5:7 KJV
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
There is no room for anxiety, God can make everything better once we trust in Him.
Philippians 4:6-7 KJV
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
There is no one better to set our mind on than God. Make your request known to God, don't be anxious and subsequently the the peace of God will keep your heart and mind.
Psalm 112:7 KJV
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
When a man trust in the Lord, he will not be afraid of evil tiding, when you're anxious God knows your tears. Staying stable, unoffended, peaceful, then trust in the Lord.
Psalm 32:10 KJV
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.
There are so many sorrows even at a time like this, it will only come to the wicked.
Mercy will encompass him that trusts in Lord. Isaiah 26:3 KJV Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee : because he trusteth in thee.
Bro. Eli had taught us that a man of God does not have anxiety because he trusts in God, so he won't be moved, shaken.
Proverbs 3:5 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
There is protection for the person that trust in the Lord.
Psalm 21:7 KJV
For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
2 Corinthians 11:28 KJV
Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.
Nahum 1:7 KJV
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
God knows those who have set their minds on him so they will be stable, not troubled by anything. No matter the challenge/burdens you must trust in the Lord or else you may go insane.
In times of need we have a God who will not fail us.
2 Peter 1:10 KJV
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
God is our strongest foundation because man will be gone (dead) but God remains forever.
2 Corinthians 3:5 KJV
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
