The teaching about the Bible not being a book of names showed my understanding to a deeper truth about how we should read and value the scripture.
Many people get caught up in that situation searching for names and details that the Bible never intended to reveal. Brother Eli reminds us that the purpose of the Bible is not to record every name or identity but to teach us lessons, truths and how to live our life.
It is important to add that even the wife of Apostle Peter and important figures in this testament were named. The daughters of Adam and Eve were not named neither, nor was Pharaoh's daughter who rescued Moses, though their act was crucial to God's plan.
But this shows that the. Bible highlights the message, not the frame of individuals. Brother Eli sign to be emphasized is how we must not rely on movies, like the Ten Commandments for biblical truth, while we must hard to twist details that are not in scripture, like seeing Pharaoh survive the Red Sea. When the Bible says he was overthrown along with his army.
In the end, the message is clear. We should focus not on the name words, but on the details that the Bible is trying to convey, on the lessons, the wisdom and the truth that the Word of God is trying to reveal in us.
