The question has its answer deeply rooted in the scriptures, as directed by the Holy Spirit. Why is it so difficult, why is it so hard to forget or to forgive someone who offended you; the only answer in the scriptures indicates that the lack of love, the absence of love, is the only reason because if you have the love taught by our lord Jesus Christ through his apostles to us, you can forget everything even the most bitter of experiences, from somebody who offended you, someone who sinned against you, with the love instructed to Christians, by the Lord Jesus Christ. It is so easy to forget when you have the love of God in you.
There is a force that makes you remember the ugly things that transpired between you and a person, there is a force that brings that memory back to your mind and that is a force or a spirit that is not of God. Why?
Hebrews 8:12–
"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember по more."
God is a God of perfect memory and that God with a perfect memory said He will forget all our sins and our iniquities—that is something great, that is something beyond the comprehension of humans and that is what the Apostle Paul called in the book of Romans as "the unfathomable riches of His love"
Romans 11:33–
"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!"
Why is it that the bad they have done to you is not very easy to forget? Because there is a force that brings back the memories of the ugly things that has happened in order for the hatred and bitterness to remain and while the hatred and bitterness remains, you are charged of being a murderer, by the word of God.
