I would like to contribute to the question: what is the proper way of teaching children about the church? (Part 2 of 2)
There are two pleasures in life, the pleasure of sin and the pleasure of serving God.
The First Pleasure is offered to us while we are young.
It was a case with Moses.
Hebrews 11:24
"By faith Moses, when he was come to years refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter.
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of ,God than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season.
Moses choose to suffer than to enjoy the riches in Egypt.
The Bible says the pleasure of sin is for a season, while that of God is for a life time
Verse 26
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.
So, Moses rejected the pleasure of sin and chose the pleasure of serving God.
We should make our children realize that the pleasures of sin is not permanent but temporary we can achieve this not by challenging them but by opening their minds using the word of God as a tool for them to see and know the realities in life and those realities to come.
We first need to know that there are pleasure of sin and is for a while and there is joy in the pleasure of serving God.
