As believers we should be filled the Holy Spirit. One of the things the Holy Spirit does is to shield us from the attacks of the enemies. Any action we see people exhibit it is normally influenced by a spirit, either the right one or the wrong one. If we detach ourselves from God's covering we make ourselves vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.
The bible told us that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and they are saved. This means that we are constantly in danger and how we elude ourselves from this danger is by running to Jesus. On our own we are helpless. The people that the devil often makes mess of are those who are without a covering, a shield.
This world is like a battlefield and it is risky to go into it without any form of defense. We should be very conscious of this fact. If we live our lives anyhow without any backing it leaves us exposed to dangers of different forms. Life is more spiritual than physical. We should not give the devil a footstool to have his way in our lives. It is those who give the devil a footstool that he would mess with.
The Holy Spirit is our shield and protector from every spiritual attack from the enemies

Life is indeed more spiritual than physical, we shouldn't give the devil footstool to have his way.
Evil spirit can't touch those that are begotten of God.
