Today, I really enjoyed the MCGI Mass Indoctrination with Brother Eli Soriano which taught great Biblical lesson about prayer. The fourth day of the indoctrination, was on the teaching about how to make our prayers acceptable to God.
Brother Eli, during the mass indoctrination, systematically explained the Scriptures and made us realize that prayer is not a mere formality. By the use of well-researched Biblical references, he taught us that prayer is a request made to God. Nevertheless, this plea should satisfy certain criteria to be answered.
According to Brother Eli, the first thing that a person should have is a pure heart. The scripture 2 Timothy 2:22 teaches that it is God who will hear the prayers of those who call Him with a pure heart. The purity that is spoken about here is not only for our prayers but should also be our lifestyle as was very evident from this huge teaching session.
The teaching shed light on 1 Peter 3:10-12, which showed how our everyday conduct affects our prayers. Brother Eli explained that you must not do evil and do good if you wish to see good days. For the ears of the Lord are open to the righteous.
In this mass indoctrination meeting, Brother Eli explained how our relationships affect our prayers. The Bible says that a husband’s treatment of his wife can interfere with prayer. In other words, God takes our relationships seriously.
.
In the course of indoctrination prayer is not just something you say; it’s a type of life that God can use, which is something I learned from this lesson. Brother Eli’s teaching made it plain that the wicked may pray, but God will not accept it. Also, that the prayer of the upright is His delight.
The mass indoctrination provided a powerful exposition of James 3:6 about the tongue. Brother Eli noted that whatever we say, whether it is true or we are lying, it affects the effectiveness of our prayers. Our words Should conform to God’s word,
On this fourth day of indoctrination, I learnt that prayer is sourced from correct living. MCGI members and guests learned from Brother Eli’s exposition of the Scriptures that God responds not just to those who pray rightly but to those who live according to His ways.
The mass indoctrination session reminded all present that prayer is part of our everyday life and actions. Through brother Eli's biblical studies, we have a better understanding that an acceptable prayer has to have a proper form with the support a righteous life.
