It has been some time since I last posted here in this community. Life has a way of catching us with side excursions that distract us from our normal activity. I am back today feeling even more blessed to share with you my reflection from Brother Eli Soriano's video Bible lesson about obedience to God,
The first important thing that Brother Eli pointed out from this teaching is that obedience to God forms the basis of our existence as humans in this world. With precise bible explanation, Brother Eli made us to know what God reveals His plan for mankind through His commandments. It is the message that the book of Ecclesiastes 12:13 was trying to convey to us when it asserted that the entire obligation of a human is to revere God and follow His commandments.
The major insight from this holy scripture is that it is not difficult to obey God. is not something that is hard to do. The reason is simply because God's will and His Law are not different from each other. If we obey His commandments with the whole of our health, then we are in unity with His divine will for our lives. This gives us the true spiritual blessings that is better than worldly materials.
Brother Eli also pointed out in this teaching, that by just believing in God cannot save anyone. We need to demonstrate our faith through obedience, which are keeping all God's commandments and having the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives. This is important because, the Lord Jesus Christ promised in the book of Matthew 28:20, that He would be with those who keeps His commandments forever, even to the end of the world.
John 14:23 also have a similar promise. Both Jesus and God the father agree to come and live with anyone keeps the words of God and His commandments. This demonstrate how obedience to God's commandments unites us with God.
Brother Eli also hinted that going to heaven is about saying "lord, lord" to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our allegiance to God can only be proven by our obedience to the Father's will. This means keeping the whole commandments of God in the bible including those by the Lord Jesus Christ in the new testament.
This first part of the lesson on obedience to God demonstrates to us why we need to grow up in our faith and God's will for our lives.
Thank you for reading, and keep an eye out for the part 2 of this bible lesson by Bro Eli Soriano.
God dislikes rebellion. We should all be obedient children
