Bro Eli in his teaching made us to understand how we should bury the dead according to the bible.
It is appointed for man to die, everyone must die one day. Humanity is destined to die, no matter the prestige that's added to our names, we all will die whether rich or poor. Now coming to the way we bury the dead, many cultures and regions have their way of burying the dead. Some wrap them and bury, some put in a coffin while some wear them expensive clothes and perfume then put in a coffin and bury, thereby showing last love and respect to their dead relatives.
According to the bible, the Egyptians embalmed their dead ones in order to preserve their body. In the book of John 19:39-42 shows that Nicodemus brought myrrh and aloes which were expensive and used to honor the body of Jesus wrapped in linen and buried him in a new tomb. This shows that after death, the body still have dignity and must be buried with respect.
Now as Christians, we must follow the teachings of the bible on how to bury the dead. The body should not be burnt or toss away carelessly, but should be treated with dignity. The care represents love, honor, dignity and belief in resurrection that the body will one day rise again.
