According to the bible, God created man and when he saw that the man was lonely he created a woman using the man's rib. God did not create multiple women for Adam, instead he created one woman for him, this shows that God does not support polygamy right from the beginning.
In the book of 1 Kings 11:3 we see how king Solomon disobeyed God's will by using his power as a king to get any woman he wants by having seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines, that's why he was hated by God. Also we see how David's child died because of fornication, that was his punishment for disobeying God's will.
In as much as humanity were given the power to choose from good and evil, we must not abuse the power by doing what is wrong or going against the will of God. Every sin have its punishment for it is written that the wicked shall not go unpunished, therefore lets live our lives according to the will of God because we all will give account on whatever we do on earth.
