In our society today, a lot of people are churchgoers, but it is only a few amongst those going to church that actually listen and do exactly as what God has commanded or led the pastor to preach. Only a few listen because some do not regard the instructions of God. They are filled with self-will.
A lot of people in the society today have become hardhearted to the instructions by not hearing and listening to the word of God; they have turned themselves into mini gods.
Looking at the instructions of God in the Bible, he has instructed us not to worship any other god aside from him. That is why all these wooden gods with eyes that cannot see, noses that cannot smell, legs that cannot work, and ears that cannot listen are just carved gods by men, and they cannot do anything. The only true God is in heaven, and he sees all, hears all, and listens to all.
So, as Christians, we should not see our God as the other gods. Our God is the supreme being, and we should worship him with all sincerity and holiness, and we should listen and obey his words.
