In Matthew 7:7, it's binding us that
prayer alone is not enough. We must cope with prayer with action.
So many people usually misunderstand prayer as just a magic that unlocks blessings without effort. God wants us to move. We must ask, we must knock. So when we ask God for something, we must also be willing to have faith and work for it.
This is an important teaching that highlights a powerful truth about faith and action, and they all go hand in hand. It's not that laziness, it's not laziness that God wants, but he rewards both the diligence that is guided by faith.
If we pray for daily bread, we should not expect it to last for forever. We should go out and labor honestly. Prayer opens so many ways for us, but action leads us to the door that cannot be prepared. So this is an important lesson that we must be very specific, we must persevere and trust in God's timing.
We must ask in the art of faith, thinking that there is an art of obedience, and knocking is an art of persistence. Together, they all reflect the conviction of being a faithful believer. One that prays, you walk and trust. Indeed, as Brother Eli has emphasized, we should ask and also act. For God blesses those who walk and trust. Pray and those who walk according to his will.
