There are people who hear the word of God but do not listen to it.
Is it possible to hear God's word without listening to it?
To hear means to perceive what someone says, while to listen means to use one's sense of hearing in an intentional way, to accept advice or obey instructions.
Some people can hear the word of God but refuse to accept it or even obey the instructions in it.
They refuse to accept God's words because their idols have blinded their eyes, according to 2 Corinthians 4:4.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
They act like their idols, because they have eyes but cannot see, they have ears but they cannot hear what God is saying.
May God help us to listen to his word.
