These are some lessons learnt from the Global Thanksgiving of God's People Day 2
The important points we have learned from the words of God discussed in the Zoom meeting are:
- The Love taught by Christ is without Dissimulation and hypocrisy
2 Tim 3 vs 2-6;
2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, - Repay Good with Evil, as Good offers us an opportunity not to be worst
Romans 12:21
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
John 13: - Love ought to be an in-born character in us
- Submission to the will of God is expected of us
St Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me - We are expected to be vigilant and have self control as we need love to keep away from evil
My former beliefs or expectations that was improved from listening at the Zoom meeting are as follows;
Ignorance on the effect of Love in the overall activity of a Christian
Romans 13:8
Owe no man anything, but to love one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the lawFailure to recognise that self control is a commandment which can be achieved by Love.
How the study affects us that can make us a better person that we can use in our daily lives are as follows;
- The study provides a deep insight of the effect of Love in our lives
- Awakens our mind to the fact that self control is achievable if we have Love
Romans 12:9
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to what which is good. - Revenge is of the Lord.
