Just today, I saw a man playing some Christian hyms and when he was done with that, he played some recorded scriptures of the Bible. I watched him closely and I saw how he was sitting while an old woman was busy struggling to lift something on her head, in his presence.
He watched the old woman go through that stress.
And then, I moved closer to him and asked him what the Bible teaches. He explained perfectly well and then, I said “why are you not acting out what the Bible says?”. He startled. He was shocked. And, I helped the old woman carry her luggage into her shop which is just twenty seconds far.
So, is praying enough to get close to God? No, it is not. Some things which are not meant to be exempted have been left out which can be very bad.
In the Bible, Matthew 7:7 says that; “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
Yes, you can ask but how do you seek? You do that by doing the right things which God has ordered us to do.
What are a few things that God has ordered us to do? He wants us to love our brothers as ourselves, He doesn’t want us to worship any other god aside from Him, He wants us never to kill a man and so many other rules.
Those are the proper ways of becoming close to God and not only opening our Bible and closing it when we get fed up of reading.
