"That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost." -Romans 15:16
As a minister of our Lord Jesus Christ, we must be sanctify and purge by holyspirit.
Bible says, " If a man therefore purge himself from these, He shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work" -2 Timothy 2:2.
A man that is ready for God to use him must work in purity, and sanctification.
What is sanctification?
"3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
"4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour." -1 Thessalonians 4:3-4.
The word sanctification simply mean 'saint', a holy one, some set apart for God's special purpose, someone who consecrates himself or herself for God.
Therefore, sanctification is when one separate himself for God;! a state of holiness to God, a state of allign to God purpose; set free from all sin.
Santification is a process of growth and maturation that involving private discipline prayers, fasting, reading of Bible and doing what the word of God says.
Santification is when the life of someone is changed for the best through reading Bible, hearing messages from holy men of God, and working hard through his daily lifestyles, prayer and fasting to be sanctifed.
Santification is a process and continuous
" But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." -Isaiah 64:6
Our righeousness (holiness) is as a filthy rags in the presence of God; and that is the reason we have to content on our daily basis. You have to fight for you holiness in prayer and fasting.
There was a man who was addicted to alcohol; he gave his life for Christ. He was expecting that his addiction should end at that moment, without knowing there were works to be done to set free from addiction.
Just because you give your life for Christ you can break away from your problem, you have to contend in prayer, fasting, and your behavior.
Even though why you have prayed and fasted, you have to reset your mindset. For instance, I won't work with those that can bring me back to my old self, I will take soft drink or water when I'm craving for alcohol, nothing will make me drink alcohol. I will remember the world of God that said "man shall not live by bread alone".- Mathew 4:4.
It could hard but when you purpose it in your heart, God will help you.
You may experience alcohol widrawal syndrome because you has promise not to drink alcohol, do not give up, associate yourself with godly men that can help, and engage yourself with something that will make your forget about it.
Therefore, being born again doesn't mean you are free from it; it is something you have to fight against. it is not easy to leave old habits, eventhough you want to leave them by force, they won't leave you.
I used alcohol here as an example, there are many challenges Christians a battle in their lives, for examples, phornography, addiction to many things that doesn't glorify God in their lives, adultary, fornication and many more.
The more you contend, the more you experience spiritual growth
"For bodily exercise profiteth little: but spiritual exercise is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." -1 Timothy 4:8.
Santifiction is a spiritual exercise, and it profits in many ways?
By the time you break free from old habits. It easy for that person to do what God says, and you begin to have deeper connection with God.
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. " -2 Corinthians 6:17.
Sins become your enemy, and you become irritating from those bad habits.
The renewal of the spirit and transformation: when your spirit is renewed, your faith experiencing exponential growth, which make you to get closer to God the more. Your faith come alive over any subject matter you need God's intervention or miracle.
" And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." -1 Thessalonians 5:23.
Intimacy: you have close relationship with God. Have you look at yourself and said God is with me with confidence? Have you experienced a situation like you are talking to God, and God is talking to you? did you ever experience a situation where God is talking to you everywhere and everytime.
You will begin to experience God is with you everywhere you go!
"Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." -James 4:8
Fruit of the spirit: sanctification leads to the manifestation of the fruit of the spirit.
" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.
"Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." -Galatians 5:23-24
