Matthew 6:25-34
[25]“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
[26]Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
[27]Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
[28]“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
[29]and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
[30]Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
[31]“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
[32]For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
[33]But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
[34]Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
I was just going through this words this evening in my Bible and I feel it's necessary to share and throw some light to it.
you see we humans are filled with so much complexity and everything can seem so overwhelming atimes, but then in the midst of it all if you can look deep into God's word you will find comfort.
One of the things that I have come to realise is that God's word is really full of his numerous promises, it's written down there for our edification, because in the program of God he knows we will be faced with such challenges and troubles and unpleasant circumstances and situations that we go through, so he knows had to make provisions for the words as an assurance or insurance that we will definitely overcome of we don't give in....
I remember one time I was so disturbed with lots of things, life wasn't making sense, deep in worries and had fallen into depression, I was so so overwhelmed but then that evening I went to church and before the service was about to start I stumbled on these verses of the Bible, immediately I had peace, I was calmed, like the troubled sea everything seized and I began to see my life differently.
the day I realise that no matter how deep I could think, depressed, worried, cried, regrets, that wasn't going to solve anything, it wasn't going to add any inch to my height or do anything meaningful or rewrite the wrongs or take back the hands of time was the day I stopped worrying and began to embrace the word of God more into my life, that no matter how bad it seems THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY OUT OF IT...THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND and stop worrying will you? learn to embrace God's word, trust him that no matter how BAD OR WORST it seems, God can come through for you, HE can change the whole narrative in one second.. just trust and believe in Him and not on your own understanding....
It's often in situations that feels hopeless that God proves the magnitude of His power
