The sermon about the early life of Jesus Christ as a refreshing perspective. Many people only focus on miracles, the teachings and the authority of Christ God.
They forget that for the first 30 years of life, we have lived just like everyone else. We are born to earthly royalty and we grow up demanding recognition instead of working so hard.
Jesus works as a simple carpenter flowing the thread of his father, his foster father, Joseph. This is how people land in judging, not by his wisdom or works, but by the family background. As usual, the way humans judge.
But, they only say, he is not a carpenter. They ask if a humble occupation describes him for being sent by God or being ordained by God.
Brother Eli only point out that Jesus Christ is not a carpenter. I have never determined the purpose of God ever in the life of a believer. Jesus' ordinary life only magnifies the extraordinary mission that was later fulfilled. These teachings also challenge us to look into what is very important.
So, how often do we underestimate people because of their background, jobs and social status. Christ's example shows us that greatness is not often a bad activity. Sometimes, the very people will overlook those who God has prepared for us to serve a greater purpose here on earth.
