Hello, and welcome to my blog. Today I want to relate my insight on the teaching, Does God Allow Polygamy? Brought to us by Bro. Eli Soriano.
Polygamy is nearly a common thing in our society today. One man and many wives and most times, many religion support this polygamy and this culture in turn casually brings about confussion to believers in christ as to whether polygamy is permitted by God.
Given that two of the many people whom God held in high esteem( King David and King Solomon) were later polygamous during their life time, it may lead people to think that God supports polygamy.
The truth of the matter is that God does not support polygamy. He has not given man the mandate of polygamy which we can see with Adam and Eve (one man and one woman) rather it is the choice which he has given to man that man has used to decide on how he wants to live. God has given man guides on how they may live according to his will but the free will of man bestowed by God makes man deviate from Gods initial initial intension for man. For more insight, you may consider Luke 16 verse 18.
