Promise is an assurance to some or person that you will do something in a specific time, promise are made and broken usually the children are sufferers of most of broken promises why ? Because they canny do anything to the person that broke his promise to them or another person, like marriage.The Bible emphasis that it is better not to make a promise, than yo make a promise and not fulfill it, because it may affect the person. Proverbs 13 Vs 12 says that
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life
When you failed to fulfill your promise you made to a person, that person heart will be broken, but if you fulfill the promise, the person will rejoice with joy and happiness. Ecclesiastes 5 Vs 4 - 5
When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it, for he hath no pleasure in fools; pay that which thou having vowest
"Better is to that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay
If you make a promise to God, try your possible best to fulfill it, because it is only a fool that do not fulfill his tongue God. Proverbs 22 Vs 1 says that it is better to have a good record than great riches and wealth and it is better to surprise people than to not fulfill the promise, in all we do try not to make promises and just do what we can..
