Hello Brethren, from today's lesson, I leaned that God is only delighted in the prayers of the upright, but the prayers of sinners are abomination to him. So we have a duty to confess and forsake our sins for God to have mercy on us. We should as well pray to God for a brother who is in sins which is not unto death, that God should forgive him and deliver him out of sins, instead of mocking him.

We were charged never to confess our sins to priest or pastors, except we offended them, because confessions of sins should be to God and the person whom we sinned against. Pastors or priests don't have the power to forgive, but God, so our confessions should be to God.
The Bible says that he that covers his sin shall not prosper as recorded in Proverbs 28:13. So we should confess our sins.
James 5:16, the Bible says, confess your sins one to another, and pray one for another that ye may be heal, that the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The scripture makes it clear that our confessions should be to God and whom we sinned against.

If we hide or cover our sins, we would not prosper, so we should confess and forsake them. If we are chastened in one way or the other, we should know that there is iniquity in us. Rather than judge God to be wicked, we should examine ourselves to ensure that we are still upright before God. We should always examine ourselves to ensure that we don't hide any sin or iniquity in us because God does not behold iniquity. We should always confess and forsake iniquities that whenever we pray, God will answer us. We know that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, so we shouldn't hide iniquity in it.

We were made to know that the house of God is not the physical buildings we do see, but the house of God is the church of the living God. And in the church of God, members should walk according to the commandments of God and not sinful.
When we walk according to God's commandments, God will always pay attention to our prayers and will even answer us before we start praying. According to Isaiah 65:24, God says, he'll answer us before we call and while we're yet speaking, he'll hear us. So if it's a righteous man that's praying, God is always there to answer.

According to the Bible, Elijah was a righteous man who walked before God upright, because of his righteousness, when he prayed to God that there there will be no that there should be no rain on the earth because of the iniquities of the sons of men, God listened to him and then granted his request and there was no rain on the earth for 3 1/2 years. And when he prayed again, God sent rain. Daniel also was a righteous man before God who did not want to defile himself in the land of captivity, and God was with him. He feared God, when he prayed, God sent his Angel to him to give him answer to his prayers. So God is always delighted if it is a righteous man that is praying to him. Therefore, we should make ourselves righteous before God.

Indeed, many believe that confessions should be made directly to God and the person we have wronged, as only God holds the power to forgive.
