The world we live in is not a perfect world. Almost everything that happens is designed to take away our joy. As Christians, we should not allow circumstances to determine our mood or take away our peace. Difficult situations may arise, but one thing that is certain is that they won't last. Our mind is a very powerful place. Whatever we allow to dwell there and constantly meditate on will, over time, begin to affect our lives physically.
Doing good to all men is a command and not an option. As followers of Christ, we are called to love others not just those who are kind to us, but even those who hurt or misunderstand us. This is what makes Christianity different from worldly ways. The Bible says in
Galatians 6:10, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
Our ability to remain kind and generous despite opposition or offense is proof that we have the spirit of Christ living in us.
Depression is a very terrible state for anyone to be in. Nothing good ever comes from it. People who have been victims of this can testify to this fact. It deprives us of a lot of things. Instead of struggling with these battles that lead to depression and anxiety, it is better we hand it over to God. One of the ways to keep depression at bay is by focusing on others. Helping people, smiling at strangers, forgiving those who wrong us these acts release joy and strengthen our inner man.
The cares of this world are too many if we were to begin to count them. There's never an end to problems as long as this earth is concerned. Peace is something that comes from within and not from external factors. We can't control everything that happens, but we can choose to live in joy, kindness, and obedience to God’s word. We must understand that doing good does not make us weak it makes us strong in Christ.
If we are to observe some people we come across who seem all happy and cheerful, it may amaze us to know that these people have problems that are even bigger and more serious than ours. But they decided not to let it consume them. They channel their pain into kindness. It is usually our attitude during trying times that determines how strong or weak we are. Doing good to others is one way we rise above our own pain, and it’s also how we allow the light of Christ to shine through us.
We should always learn to give those who don't have.
God commands us to do good to all men
