I learnt that whichever race we come from, God has a commandment for us to seek him.
A natural man, desires the things of this world.
So whenever we do good, it is God that works in us.
We should seek those things which are from above.
COLOSSIANS 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
MATTHEW 13:4-7
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Luke 8:11-15

KJV:Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

KJV:Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

KJV:They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

KJV:And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

KJV:But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
These tells us that there are four kinds of heart:
A. The heart that hear the word of God but are eaten up by friends and enemies of destiny as they the word enter them.
B. The hearts that hear the word of God, they dedicate themselves to grow and as the word of God is trying to find it's root in their lives, they allow the cares and desires of Life to choke it up before it grows.
C. The Third Kind are those that hear the word of God but are immediately eaten up.
D. The hearts that allow the word of God to grow and produce fruits worthy of repentance.
No matter the category we belong, God can still renew our hearts.
Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
It is God's will that all men be saved.
