The Egyptians do not just put their deceased ones in a coffin. They abandon them to preserve them, and the proof is up till now we can find in Egypt these coffins with the body inside that coffin. They do everything to preserve that body. They show respect and love for their dead relatives.
Christians happen to do this also. They wrap the body with linen clothes and they apply their bodies with perfume.
Genesis 50:26 - So Joseph died being a hundred and ten years old, and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
To show the respect and love for Joseph, they embalmed his body, that is to say they put perfume, spices, then they put him in a coffin. In the case of our Lord Jesus Christ, when He died they wrapped the body also and put him in a grave near Jerusalem.
John 19:39 - And there it came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes about a hundred pound weight.
In the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden and in the garden a new sepulchre wherein no man ever laid.
They embalm, they wrap in clothes in linen, then they put in a coffin, then they bury them in a grave. That is the practice of the Hebrews. This is the manner they did for the body of the Lord Jesus Christ when he died. This is quite different among other cultures of the earth.
The Bible does not specify any particular way to bury the dead
