Many people observe Holy Week as a special time to reflect on the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It includes events like Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. These moments are definitely found in the Bible, but the idea of setting aside one particular week to remember them isn’t something Jesus or His apostles instructed us to do. Over time, churches added these traditions to help people remember what happened, but that doesn’t make them a direct command from God.
In the Members Church of God International (MCGI), also known as "The Old Path," the focus is more on living a life that constantly honors Christ not just during one week of the year. Instead of following man-made religious traditions, they believe it's more important to remember Jesus every day through faithful living and obedience to His teachings. So while the events of Holy Week are meaningful and true, MCGI sees the yearly celebration as something created by people, not something the Bible actually requires.
Holy week is simply the suffering of Jesus Christ.
It is the week of passion, sacred events in Christendom.
